I Am Back!

Ha! So you thought I had abandoned the blog (well, to be honest, I kind of did). However, I am back, with several things to say.

Firstly, my excuse: College. Yep. I will be attending UCSD this Fall, and getting prepped for it has been craaaazy. Seriously, the amount of things you have to do to get into college is through the roof. I’ve been stuck by needles three times now with a fourth poke coming all for the sake of higher education.

Furthermore, my mom is out of the house in Singapore, so I have to help house-keep, and that is no easy task mind you. And also, I needed to recover after finals. I have been sick for around three weeks now and it is just now getting better, I think.

All that aside, I am glad to be back and writing, and I do need to update you guys on several things (so this is June’s reflection post).

Firstly, I will get back to posting Eternity on Fridays. Once again, all the crazy stuff threw me for a loop, and so I had to put a hold on that, but it will be happening once again! As for the other story that I hinted at before completely disappearing, that idea has evolved and birthed a new, and better idea that I am working on currently.

Also, I want to link my blog back up to my Twitter account. I used to post on my Twitter account whenever I posted on here, but I stopped after a while because I got lazy. Not anymore! Anybody interested can now find me on Twitter where I hope to post more regular updates on what I’m doing and how things are going.

For some personal updates, yes, I am attending the University of California San Diego this Fall, where I will be studying Mathematics-Computer Science in Sixth college. I plan to live on campus and I plan to work (hopefully) for the first time. I’m very excited about that. However, that will not be happening until August.

In more recent news, my girlfriend Anna will be coming to visit in two days. She’ll be staying for a couple of weeks, and I am very excited about that. So expect to see posts talking about that both here and on Twitter.

I think that’s pretty much all I have to say. I’ve got some projects that I’m working on currently, but those will have to stay a secret until they are in a more solid state. I hope to update you guys on them soon. I’d really like to make this blog more than it has been in the past.

Alright, that’s it for now.

Hello everybody. As you can see from my lack of energy, I’m rather exhausted, so I’ll make tonight’s post quick. This past week has been finals week. I’m finished with it now. How’d it go? I think it went well, but to be honest, I’m just glad they’re over with.

Not only did the end of finals mark the end of school for me, but my girlfriend has also been over to visit. She arrived yesterday, and today was the first full day we got to spend together. 🙂 For those of you who don’t know, I’m in a long distance relationship, meaning we’re dating, but we live far enough apart that we can’t exactly visit each other whenever we feel like it. She had to fly over.

However, she’s over for Christmas, and of the three years we’ve known each other, this will be the first Christmas we’ve spent together, so we’re both quite excited about that. We also have a lot of things planned, just because time tends to go by quickly if you’re not making sure to do the things you want to do.

Speaking of which, sleep is currently something I want to do quite a bit. Like I said (did I say it?), it’s been a long day, and I could really use the zzz’s. But, realy quick, before I go do that, I’d like to talk briefly about Christmas.

I’m not going to say much in the way of how you guys should spend your Christmas, or what my opinions on how it should be celebrated and whatnot are. What I will say is that Christmas is really a time for thanksgiving, and not just all about the gifts. So whatever you’re up to, why not spend a little time just being thankful? It could be a simple “thank you” to a family member, or you could write up a card to someone you know. Either way, I think it would be great if we all put aside some time to be thankful this Christmas.

Good night everyone.

P&P Post 3: Gaming

The journal series about our relationship that Anna and I doing has a new addition. Check it out! Also, I do NOT beat her at every game. Backgammon is my bane, I swear. Either she is wickedly good or the dice are just always stacked against me (rolled against me?). *sigh* And she has improved drastically in League. And she does a lot of it independently. Basically, you should negate any self-deprecating thing she has to say about herself when you read that post.

If you want to know where all of this began, check out the introductory post here and keep an eye out for more of these in the future!

Aaaaand… The Big Reveal :)

So I’ve mentioned a couple times now that I have a girlfriend, and for those who checked out my Twitter feed in the short time that I’ve publicized it would see that I’m in an LDR, or long distance relationship. And this Summer, while away deserting you guys (sorry!) on a road trip, for the first time I finally met the girl I’ve been dating for eight months then, nine and a half months now, and– her name is Anna.

To be more specific, she is the same person as the blogger behind the blog I’ve featured a couple of times, AMBient. I was really excited when I learnt, while planning with my family for this road trip, that we would be going through Illinois where she lives. Quick arrangements were made, and after meeting each other on July 4th (how cool is that?) and being witness to a fireworks display, I ended up spending nine days at her house, before both of us were picked up by my family on their return trip. We travelled together to Utah, where she then flew home, and I wended my way back here to California.

So… That was exciting. And that was an understatement. I’m not quite sure how to express in words how amazing an experience it was for me to spend this much time with her in person. For anyone out there who has been or is in an LDR, you know what I mean when I say that meeting in person for the first time is the most amazing event that could possibly happen. And for those in an LDR that haven’t met, don’t be discouraged. Stay strong. You guys’ll get together one day.

Anyway, now that I’ve spilled out three paragraphs of jumbled information, let me give you a jumbled collection of pictures, just to show you guys the fun we had without you. XP I’m just kidding! Come back! I do actually wanna share pictures with you though.

A cool picture we took

This was a neat picture we took while she came with me and my family back on our return trip. We had stopped by a restored 1880s town. It was pretty cool.

This was further along on our return trip. We made a brief stop by Crazy Horse Memorial and here is a picture of us with it in the background.

We shared a giant ice cream at Mt. Rushmore. It was hot there.

And, to finish it, this was a picture we took while in Yellowstone National Park.

So yeah, I’m in an LDR with the beautiful Anna, and now that you guys know, we can post all kinds of lovey-dovey stuff and that kind of thing. Just kidding. XP Still though, now you’ll be able to excuse some of the liberties she takes with her comments. =P

That’s it. Ciao!
