Connected Pieces

This took longer to make than the poem. Funny how that works.

Well, here’s another depressing poem to cheer your holiday. ;P

The whole world is tearing you apart and leaving the pieces
You’re one whole, but just too sliced up by life’s caprices
The knife sits there, cold steel waiting silently on the table
They’re all wishing holiday cheer, you’re just unable
You should be hurting inside but it is just a cold snowstorm
You just want to feel; pain or relief, freezing or warm
So many broken parts on the floor yet not quite dissected
You’re shattered all over but somehow still connected
